Kyneton Winery

Type — Commercial

Location — Kyneton

Status — In Construction

Located in the Macedon Ranges on traditional Taungurung land. The site is home to rare bushland and incredible granite rock formations.

The existing 15 tonne winery and cellar door occupy two side by side linear gable roofed agricultural buildings, built upon a natural ridgeline that overlooks the vineyard to the north and bushland and rock formations to the south.

The extension to the winery connects the two existing volumes and extends the fermentation hall to the east. The resultant 80m linear building consolidates all functions of the winery and cellar door in singular architectural gesture.

The functions of the winery are arranged sequentially. The admin area leads to the Fermentation Hall which opens out onto an external work area. The Barrel Store follows and leads to the tasting area and café.
